I'm sure many of you have already figured out your summer plans, and usually by now Khalsa Camp has been completely full, but this year, we have 3 weeks with a few spaces available. So, in case you still are looking for something for your children to do this summer, I wanted to invite you to look at our camp.
As many of you know, at Khalsa Camp we offer yoga and meditation, horseback riding 2x/week, swimming and swimming lessons, and spend a lot of time outdoors. We have three sessions, each with their own unique theme. The first available week is week one of our Cooperative Trust Building session, for ages 5-10 (July 18-22). This session filled in March, but then a few campers had unforeseen things come up opening up 2 spaces. In this session we do trust building exersices, non-competitive games and initiatives, and spend a day canoeing and exploring ponds, in addition to our regular weekly activities. The other weeks are our Expressive Arts session--both weeks are available (August 1-12). This session is for older children, ages 8-13. In addition to our regular activities, this session's focus is on creative expression. In the first week we offer several different dance classes, including West African dance and drumming, lots of acting games and activities, and begin work on our show that will be performed on Friday August 12. This year we are performing a play based on an Indian folktale, called The Drum. It is a very sweet story and the campers will be part of the whole production, from creating scenery and costumes, learning lines and songs, learning an African dance choreography and finally performing for friends and family.
If you are at all interested please check out our website, KhalsaCamp.net for more info, or send an email (khalsacamp@gmail.com) with any questions.
Hope you all have a wonderful summer!!
